Inspiration

The beauty of a family heirloom, and the sentimentality attached, inspired me to build this brand.

When I was a teenager, my mother gave me a coat she had made when she was in college. The ivory wool was soft with wear. Meticulous bound buttonholes and a hand-embroidered red satin lining relayed my mother's craftsmanship and care. The beauty of this garment, and the sentimentality attached, inspired me to build this brand.

It is my goal to create a garment with you that carries special meaning. That reminds you of that time in your life when you decided to sell your business or embrace your body, that special someone who brought tears to your eyes when they gifted it to you for a milestone birthday, or how the brightness of that yellow leather brought sunshine to a dark time.

These one-of-a-kind jackets and coats are intrinsically personal, thus reflecting your taste, enhancing your magnetism, and reminding you of the things you hold important. My guiding principle through every step of the process is to make something so well loved that it either wears out after many years as a pillar in your wardrobe, or is passed down as a cherished family heirloom, just like the one my mother gave me.

Team

Every aspect of our custom jackets are individually handmade in-studio by our dedicated team of two.

  • Anneke Forbes

My mother taught me to sew in 1992 and I haven’t stopped since. My enthusiasm for clothing construction lead me to study fashion design in Toronto after university. There I fell in love with overcoats and leather and graduated at the top of my class. My job within this brand involves creative direction, collection design, sales, marketing, selections coordination, fit evaluation, production management, and jacket making, with a speciality in leather. When not in the studio I am raising three young boys, modelling and styling for my husband’s product photography business, and geeking out over personal style.

  • Tunde Kolebaba

Tunde studied pattern cutting and garment technology in her home country of Hungary. She began her career in a workroom that developed samples for luxury French brands like Comme Des Garçons. When she moved to Scotland, her favourite fabric, Harris Tweed, inspired her to launch a custom clothing brand. Her job focuses on ensuring the perfect fit through thoughtful pattern cutting and fit evaluation, but also includes collection co-design, sewing technology development, and jacket making, with a specialty in wovens. When not working, Tunde is parenting two preteens, skiing, or collecting vintage garments.
