Updating An Old Favourite
With the blazer size run complete, I’ve had time to apply the fit lessons we learned on it to other styles in my collection. First up, my personal wardrobe favourite; the Military Motorcycle Jacket!
I’m so excited to offer more movement across the back, a slimmed out above-bust hollow, and smoother armhole shape as a starting point for client’s custom fit pieces. I have always been proud of our fit, and adjust it until the client is 100% happy, but now we are starting from a more universally well-fitting place, which makes my team’s job easier and better aligns my client’s first impressions with the final product.
We also made a couple changes to improve the ease of sewing, like slightly wider epaulettes, and applied our new interior design details, like the back facing and new inside pocket style. Happy to report it looks just as good on the moto as it does on the blazer!
As with every change we make to our patterns, I’m testing these out. This time in a pink-tinged beige whose softness well suits the velvety nap of the suede. Together, they provide the perfect paradox to the edgy silhouette and tough military details of this best seller.
I will likely test this design one more time before relaunch to confirm upgrades, pricing, and process and will be making a sample in an extended size for the photoshoot… any thoughts on next colours?
