Even Better
As I develop the Bluff Pocket Blazer, I have taken time to re-examine the standard fit and finish of my collection. It is important to me that sustainability and understated luxury are inextricable from every detail of the jackets. As a result, this new style will usher in improvements that I’m excited to share with you.
1) Silk Lining
Despite bemberg being a suit maker’s go-to lining option, the cellulose based synthetic stood out from my otherwise natural fibre selections. I am shivering with excitement that this blazer is lined with 100% silk, an unbelievably durable and deliciously soft fabric. I love slipping a bare arm into a sleeve and imagine the joy this extra dose of luxury will inspire in my clients.
2) Chain Hanger Loop
Gone is the woven brand label at centre back and in its place beams a functional new feature; a hanger loop of stainless steel or solid brass chain. This delicate addition signals the taste of the wearer without branding her as anyone but her stylish self. Personally, I’ve always removed every single label from my clothes (mainly for comfort, but also not wanting to be a walking advertisement), so it made sense to transition from an unquestioned industry standard to an option that will make the wearer’s life easier and more beautiful.
3) Improved mobility
I have always been proud of the fact that our made-to-measure jackets fit like a glove, but with two new adjustments, they now move like a mitten too! The back lining has been raised to meet the collar (thereby increasing the functionality of the 2” action pleat), and the armhole has been reshaped slightly forward. My strong shoulder, slim sleeve combination remains, but with more consideration given to the many things in our lives we do with arms outstretched.
